National Curriculum LV 1 - Part Two
Intermediate
Continue your journey to becoming a skilled blacksmith with our National Curriculum LV 1 - Part Two class.
This globally recognized curriculum is perfect for serious hobbyists or aspiring professional smiths. Over two days, you'll dive into forging mechanics, hammer control, proper forging techniques, and the heat-treating process as we forge all the hand tools required for NC LV 1.
Includes: a round punch, hot chisel, slot punch, hand-held fuller, and z-bar bottom fuller. If time allows we will also cover a set of drifts that work with our new punches.
If the students' newly finished tools meet the NC standards all these items can then be signed off on the student's NC sheet, getting them well on the way to full NC LV 1 certification!
Students will use power hammers, hand-hammering, and filing in this action-packed class.
Don't miss out on this essential part of the 5-class series. Visit our National Curriculum Page to learn more.
We break for lunch around noon for 30 - 45 minutes. There are plenty of places to go nearby, or you can store and prep your sack lunch in our kitchenette.
Please wear non-synthetic clothes and closed-toe shoes! A water bottle is highly recommended. Notebook or personal safety gear or tools are optional.
