8 Week Advanced Beginner Wheel: The Makers Mug

Improve your mug making skills in this 8 week course all about developing your style and fundamentals!

Mugs are known as a potter's signature form, showcasing both aesthetic and functional considerations. This course will cover advanced mug making techniques including iteration and fine tuning of forms, handle making, functional considerations, and finishing. Whether you are looking to improve your fundamentals or dial in your artistic voice, this course is a great fit for you!

Each week will consist of instructor demos and personal making time.

Students will also have full access to the studio during open hours for the duration of their 8 Week course (6am-2am All Days).

Shelf space and 25lbs of clay is provided to each student. Tools and other equipment are avaible at the studio for communal use.

I began making ceramics as a tool to delve into the seemingly simple objects we use every day. With a background in Culinary Arts and Biochemistry, I use ceramics as a vehicle to explore the combination of artistic expression, functionality, and scientific experimentation. I work on various themes in my collections, seeking to understand the ways in which materials can be combined to create beautiful works while at the same time understanding the science behind those effects. The importance of sharing knowledge and teaching others has remained a core philosophy in my practice. Through educating others and collaborating with talented artists, I aim to create a community of innovators that have a unique voice capable of discussing and exploring being through artistic output.
