8 Week Advanced Beginner Handbuilding: 3 Projects for Summer - Surface Development Intensive
Intermediate
"3 Projects for Summer " is perfect for hand builders with at least 8 weeks of experience.
The special projects series is tackling 3 new forms assigned to invite contemplation of surface treatment, sensitive touch, and summer abundance. We will start by constructing a pair of goblets, then coil a large salad bowl, then conclude with a perforated berry bowl constructed from soft slab using paper templates. Demos will emphasize both form and surface, eventually driving toward the notion that the two are not separate stages, but in fact thrive and vibrate on a celestial frequency when considered inextricable from each other.
Each week will consist of instructor demos and personal making time. Students will also have full access to the studio during open hours for the duration of their 8 Week course (6am-2am All Days).
Shelf space and 25lbs of clay is provided to each student. Tools and other equipment are avaible at the studio for communal use.
